In 2019 the IESF (British Section) celebrated its Centenary Year which included a voyage to Paris and reception at the British Embassy along with colleagues from IESF France.

In June a Gala Dinner was held at the Institution of Civil Engineers

Our first ‘Voyage’ that year was to Chester, where we learned much of the history of that fascinating ancient city and visited notable local engineering projects, such as the Dinorwig Power Station.
On our ‘Voyage’ to Paris, we visited such engineering marvels as the extension to the Metro, driven through exceptionally challenging ground conditions, the tunnels being below the water table, in permeable ground! And we enjoyed the excellent French cuisine of Paris.
